Need help, found a problem or have an idea? Email us and tell us which device you use (for example iPhone, iPhone Duo, iPad, Mac, or an Android phone, tablet or foldable) and what happened.

Free trial and the full game

How does the free trial work?

When you first open Bill’s Sudoku, tap Start free trial. Easy and Medium are free to play for 30 days. Starting the trial costs nothing and needs no payment details. On iPhone, iPad and Mac, the App Store shows it as a free “30-day Trial” item. When the 30 days end, Easy and Medium lock until you unlock the full game.

How do I unlock Hard and Expert Mode?

Tap Hard or Expert, or tap Unlock full game, then confirm the purchase with your Apple Account (iPhone, iPad and Mac) or your Google Account (Android). It is a single one-time purchase with no subscription. It unlocks Hard and Expert and keeps every mode playable after the trial.

I bought the full game on another device. How do I get it here?

Make sure the device uses the same Apple Account (or, on Android, the same Google Account in the Play Store) that was used to purchase the app. Open Bill’s Sudoku, tap the round name button at the top, then tap Restore purchase. The unlock screen has a Restore purchase button too. A purchase made on an Apple device doesn’t carry over to Android, or the other way round, because Apple and Google sell them separately.

Playing

How do notes work?

Tap Notes so it shows On, then tap number pieces to pencil small numbers into the selected square. Tap Notes again to go back to placing numbers. Notes clear themselves when you place a number. Clear notes when a number is placed.

What do Hint, Undo and Erase do?

Hint fills in a correct number for you. Undo takes back your last move, and Erase clears the selected square.

Can I play with kanji numbers?

Yes. Turn on Kanji numbers (一 二 三) in the settings under the number pieces. The board and pieces then show 一 二 三 instead of 1 2 3.

Why did a number turn red?

With Mark wrong numbers on, a number that doesn’t belong turns red as soon as you place it. Switch it off in the settings if you prefer to find mistakes yourself.

Will I lose my game if I close the app?

No. Bill’s Sudoku remembers your game when you close it, and Save game saves it at any moment. Your game is kept on the device only.

How do I change my name?

Tap the round name button at the top of the game, then tap Change name.
